Home-made jelly candies recipe

Similar to  the one’s you get at the  store with fruit pectin, extra fruity and tangy.  Here it is great jelly candies recipe using the Jelly Trough kit .

INGREDIENTS

1 3/4 oz dry fruit pectin (Sure Jel)
3/4 cup water
1/2 teas baking soda

IN A 2ND LARGER PAN
1 cup sugar
7/8 (scant 1 cup) cup light Karo
Flavor/color/citric acid

DIRECTIONS

  1. Mix the ingredients is a small pan
  2. Lightly grease candy molds, or spray with PAM, and sprinkle with granulated sugar.
  3. In 1st saucepan, combine fruit pectin, water & baking soda; set aside.
  4. In a 2nd pan, combine sugar & corn syrup, mixing well.
  5. Cook both mixtures, stirring alternately until foam subsides in the soda mixture, about 5 minutes.
  6. Pour pectin mixture in a slow, steady stream into the boiling sugar mixture, stirring constantly.
  7. Boil & stir for one minute more. Remove from heat stir in flavoring, food color & 1/2 teas. citric acid.
  8. Pour into prepared molds.
  9. Let set for 24 hours.
  10. Remove from molds.
  11. Let stand for at least a day before packaging.
