<li> Dip the apple slices into the batter and deep-fry  until golden on one side.</li>
<li>Flip and fry until golden brown on the other  side as well.</li>
<li>Drain on paper towels.</li>
<li>Sprinkle the fried apples with confectioner’s sugar.</li>
<li>Allow to cool down or put in the fridge for 30mints.</li>

<li>Pour boiling hot into hot jars; adjust the lids.</li>
<li>Process 10 minutes in a boiling-water bath.</li>
<li>Start the counting time when the water returns to a boil.</li>
<li>Remove the jars from the water and cool on a rack.</li>
<li>Makes four 12-ounce jars.</li>
</ol>
<p>This recipe makes it  to be sweet yet still relatively spicy.  It could go with serrano peppers for a medium heat and Jalapeno peppers also  for more spice.</p>

<li>Repeat procedure with pineapple juice: place 4 tbsp gelatin in ¼ cup cold water to soften for about 5 minutes.</li>
<li>Place the pineapple juice, 6 tbsp sugar and 4 tbsp corn syrup in a medium saucepan over medium heat and stir until sugar dissolves.</li>
<li>Stir in the gelatin and continue stirring until gelatin dissolves.</li>
<li>At this point add food coloring if desired. Remove from heat and allow to cool for 10 minutes in pan.</li>
<li> Pour over strawberry layer and leave until completely set, 4-6 hours at room temperature or 1 hour in the refrigerator.</li>
<li>When set, turn out of pan and cut with a sharp knife or cookie cutter into desired shapes. Candies can be served plain or rolled in sugar to coat.</li>

<p><strong>Note</strong>: Strawberry juice can be obtained from boiling fresh or frozen strawberries over medium heat. Place 1.5 cups of berries in a small saucepan and heat, stirring occasionally, until they are very liquidy.
