INGREDIENTS

1 lb package powdered sugar
1/4 cup butter, softened

pinch salt
3 T boiling water OR 4 T fruit juice
1 tsp flavor extract (vanilla, almond, cherry, maple, lemon, etc)
food coloring as desired

DIRECTIONS

1. Dump out the powdered sugar into a pile on a cutting board or work surface.

2. Put the soft butter and salt in the center of the mound.

3. Knead by hand. Add the water a little at a time.

4. Add the flavoring and color.

5. Continue kneading until the fondant does not stick to your hands.

6. Roll the fondant into a ball and pinch off small amounts as desired for candy centers.
